Abstract

In this work, the change in the fluorescence intensity of polymer substrates doped with different rare-earth complex was studied. For this, Tb(phen)2(NO3)3 was prepared and incorporated into polymer substrates for the preparation of nano fluorescent fibers via electrospinning. The polymer substrates used were polyacrylonitrile (PAN), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) and polyvinyl butyral (PVB). The results show that the composite fiber doped with a amount of complex exhibited the characteristic green emission peak of Tb3+, and its fluorescence intensity was much higher than that of Tb(phen)2(NO3)3. Compared with Tb(phen)2(NO3)3, the fluorescence lifetime of the fibers increased, and the ability of PAN to prolong the fluorescence life and intensity was particularly notable.
