Abstract

Sixteen glass ceramic blocks (IPS e.max CAD/CAM) were fabricated by a CAD/CAM machine withdimensions (6mm × 11mm x 13mm) and divided into 4 groups (n=4), according to surface treatments: (G1)Hydrofluoric acid (HF) etching and silane application, (G2) Acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) and silaneapplication, (G3) Monobond Etch and Prime (MEP), (G4) Tetrabutylammonium dihydrogen trifluoride (TDTF) andsilane application.Composite resin blocks (Te econome) were fabricated and cemented to the treated ceramic blocksusing adhesive resin cement. All bonded specimens were kept in a water bath for three months and went through 5000thermal cycles. The bilayered specimens were sectioned into micro-bars (1 mm* 1 mm in cross-section) using adiamond-coated disc under water cooling using a cutting machine. Microtensile bond strength (μTBS) test wasperformed. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used for specimens’ examination.
