Abstract

The Zn–Ni–Co coatings were deposited onto carbon steel under galvanostatic conditions using a cathodic current density of j = 50 mAcm−2. The influence of Co2+ ions concentration in the electrolyte on surface morphology of the deposit, chemical and phase composition of electrodeposited Zn–Ni–Co was investigated by XRD and EDS methods. The obtained results evidenced the possibility of Zn–Ni–Co alloy electrodeposition under galvanostatatic conditions. The Co2+ concentration had a certain influence on the morphology of the deposit. Copyright © 2014 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
