Abstract

Objective To observe the influence of budesonide on the blood gas indicators and lung function of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) during acute exacerbation period. Methods 80 patients with COPD treated at our hospital from September, 2014 to September, 2016 were selected and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, 40 for each group. All the patients were treated with terbutaline; in addition, the observation group were treated with budesonide. The patient's lung function and blood gas indicators after treatment and drug safety were observed. Results After treatment, the lung function and blood gas indicators were better in the observation group than in the control group, with statistical differences (allP<0.05). No obvious adverse reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusions Terbutaline and budesonide for patients with COPD during acute exacerbation period can markedly improve the patients’ lung function and blood gas indicators and relieve their symptoms and does not cause more adverse reactions and is effective and safe.
