Abstract
ABSTRACT This paper presents the results of a study on the evolution of permanent stains of unbound granular materials used in base layer of flexible pavement. This study has been conducted both in laboratory and on site, and deals with the characterisation of the material fabric. Then, it deals with the influence of the initial state of the material in the pavement and the influence of the traffic loading on the accumulation of permanent strains. Finally, it explains the necessity to use finite element method to relate site measurements and predictions from laboratory tests.
