Abstract
This article will describe the concept and evolution of shared unconscious phantasy and explores the psychoanalytic treatment of couples who consulted because of an extramarital affair. The unconscious phantasy, unconscious beliefs, mutual projective identifications of each of the members reveals the shared unconscious dynamics behind the marital affair.
