Abstract
Abstract In this paper, we consider nine two-period crossover trial data sets. We present a method of forming subgroups of subjects within each group. A new model is proposed for analyzing the crossover trial data. Treatment-by-subgroup within group interactions are tested both parametrically and nonparametrically for the nine data sets. We observe the presence of significant treatment-by-subgroup within group interactions for all data sets. The significance of such interactions shows the importance of the fact that the treatments do act differently on subjects. This fact should not be ignored in the analysis. The assumption of normality in the parametric method of analysis for the nine data sets is checked by graphical as well as standard test procedures.
