Abstract
One of the very many lovely things I do in my job as a midwife, and have the privilege and pleasure of, is to hold newborn babies – the joy has never waned for one minute! I do not think there is anything as soft, precious or beautiful as newborn skin – like the perfect mixture of the softest velvet and rose petals. Encouraging parents to learn to care for that skin, that newborn, and enjoy holding, touching and getting familiar with their new little human can take some time.
