Abstract
We summarize the recent progress toward determining the ordering of the normalized immanants regarded as generalized matrix functions and restricted to the n × n positive semidefinite Hermitian matrices. Included are the most recent results of Heyfron and Pate. Moreover, we describe some of the techniques used.
