Abstract
The present chapter investigated about an industrial-based complex system which consists of n units in parallel configuration with a standby unit. The considered system works in three different states, namely good, degraded, and failed. There are four types of failures which can occur during the operation, namely unit failure, catastrophic failure, human failure, and the failure of standby unit, which are of foremost concern in this study. The system is analyzed with the help of Markov model, Supplementary variable technique, and Laplace transform. The availability, reliability, Mean Time to Failure (MTTF), and sensitivity analysis have been evaluated for the system. The results have been explained with the help of graphs.
