Abstract

Abstract From an industrial point of view monomolecular photoreactions which lead to the chemical compounds have to be carried out in an optimal manner. The choice of the most appropriate photoreactor and the use of selective filtering represent two important factors which must be taken into account. In order to illustrate the importance of these two factors, the phototransformation of hop α-acids into iso-α-acids, for possible application in brewing, is described as an example.
