Abstract

Industrial explosives are one of the least expensive source of energy needed to fracture or fragment rocks in Mining construction, quarries and other industries. Despite its relative low cost, explosives may, if not properly well designed and used, pollute the environment to the degree that their uses may be restricted and the pollution incurred cost may be unnecessarily high. Three detrimental side effect can be produced as byproducts of explosive usage: Fly rocks, Air blast and Ground vibrations. In this paper ground vibration were discussed and criteria for evaluating this pollutant along with some recommendation to alleviate their effects were introduced.
