Abstract

Abstract A new method for regenerating the activated carbon used in the solvent recovery system was developed by employing pressure-reduced and low-temperature steam. The oxidation and polymerization reactions of ketones with oxygen during the steam regeneration were significantly reduced and the considerably longer life of the carbon bed was achieved in the cyclic adsorption-regeneration operations as compared to the conventional methods.
