Abstract
The presented method enables determination of enlargement of power transfer capacity of HV cable lines with applied cross-bonding because of surrounding metal installations. The main problem appears because of the fact that many of surrounding metal installations are situated under the surface of the ground and cannot be visually determined or verified. The method developed here enables compensation of deficiency of all relevant, but unknown data. This has been done by defining the certain field measurement procedure and by developing the corresponding analytical procedure based on the results of these measurements. The performed quantitative analysis shows that the favorable effects of surrounding metal installations on the power transfer capacity of these cable lines are remarkable.
