Abstract

Increasing use is being made of crucible-type medium-frequency induction furnaces, since they best satisfy current requirements on the quality of metals and alloys in terms of efficiency and functional capabilities. These furnaces have excellent performance characteristics, are environmentally safe, can be easily adapted to modern metallurgical production, and are the most promising type of furnace for foundry use in the coming decades.
