Abstract
Objective To explore a safe and effective method for induction of labor at mid-term in women with scar uterus. Methods 100 women with scar uterus who had received induction of labor at mid-term from January 2011 to January 2012 were randomly divided into two groups. The study group received intra-amniotic injection of rivanol, while the control group received mifepristone and misoprostol. Results The effective rate was obviously higher in the study group than in the control group ( 96.00% vs.86.00%,P< 0.05 ).Time to uterine contraction after uses of medication and time to from placenta discharge from uterine contraction differed significantly between the two groups ( P< 0.05 ).Time to induction of labor was obviously shorter in the study group than in the control group. Conclusions Intra-amniotic injection of rivanol for induction of labor at mid-term in women with scar uterus can greatly increase the success rate of induction and shorten time to induction of labor. It is a safe and effective method of induction at mid-term and is worth popularizing.
