Abstract

The scalar control system of an induction motor electric drive shown satisfies requirements to a number of industrial and transport applications. The features of different scalar control systems are considered. The criteria for efficiency evaluation and comparative analysis of electric drives, including the traction ones, are proposed. The influence of windings temperature on efficiency and some parameters of scalar control with modes of constant slip and stator current minimum are evaluated. The description of the model and results of Matlab simulation are presented for the 11 kW induction motor electric drive. The recommendations of practical implementation of results are given.
