Abstract

Generally low correlations were obtained for 685 Brazilian high school and college students between the scales of a vocational interest inventory, the Test visuel d'intérêts Tétreau-Trahan (T.V.I.T.T.), and the scales of a work values inventory. Perron and Duponts Questionnaire de valeurs de travail (Q. V. T). Yet, in previous studies, both instruments were found to be efficient at differentiating groups of subjects according to Holland's interest and personality typology. These results are discussed with respect to the influence and interplay of interests and values in career development.
