Abstract

Mujiono N. 2015. Gastropods from Seribu Islands, Jakarta based from Museum Zoology Bogor’s specimens collection. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 1771-1784. The study of gastropods specimen collection from Seribu Islands, Province of Jakarta which deposited in Museum Zoologi Bogor (MZB) has been carried out. The aims are to find out the diversity, distribution and the conservation status of gastropods species as well. The data source is coming from the gastropods catalog books up to the number 5000. There are 624 collection numbers from 20 islands that surveyed between 1906 and 1957. As much as 65 families and 243 gastropods species which consist of 16 terrestrial species, 13 freshwater species, and 214 marine species have been identified. The oldest collections are come from 1906 that is Clypeomorus batillariaeformis, Nerita polita, Nerita signata, Nerita undata and Planaxis sulcatus from Nyamuk Besar island. Cypraeidae consist of 26 species, the highest, and distribute in 14 islands, while Nerita signata and Clypeomorus batillariaeformis are the most distributed species which occur in 11 islands. There are also 31 species which listed in the category Least Concern in the IUCN Red List and 6 endangered species which 3 species, Pila conica, Conus marmoreus and Conus textile are included in both categories above. The most important island for conservation purpose is Untung Jawa which consist of 102 species, the highest of all, where 17 species are included in both categories above.
