Abstract

Rintjap AK. 2015. Effective communication of information recipient in cattle farmer groups in Remboken, Minahasa District, North Sulawesi. Pros Sem Nas Masy Biodiv Indon 1: 1711-1714. One determinant of development in the field of the economy was livestock sub-sector because it has a strategic role in the provision of food sources. Groups of farmers in the district Remboken, Minahasa regency, North Sulawesi still maintain cattle extensively. The process of efficient and effective communication about how beef cattle modern breeding required by farmers. The communication process was the extension of participation and exchange of knowledge and experience. The purpose of this study was to describe the process of effective communication in conveying information about how to raise beef cattle. In that efficient and effective communication process would learn how was the response of cattle farmers through a strategic approach to measuring the response/feedback of farmers as the recipient. To describe the condition of the cattle business in all three groups then used descriptive analysis with a percentage of each variable models. Variables were analyzed include the frequency of visiting instructor, long been the extension and content of the message. The results showed that the process of communication between the instructor and members of the group was the process of face to face communication. Extension directly conveyed the message contains information about how to raise cattle which includes feeding, breeding, and management. The effectiveness of communication in message reception affected to the high of farmers knowledge about how modern breeding.
