The small scale private forest has an important role in the social-economics life of the community and ecological condition especially in the improvement of the water system and environmental conservation, nowadays the small scale private forest is mostly managed by traditional methods. The research was carried out in West Java using survey methods and field observation to conduct vegetation analysis. The result indicated that vegetation of small scale private forest structure (mixed farming) was more simple compared with those in natural forest. However, its tree density and canopy cover was almost similar with those of natural forest. Its biodiversity and crown cover is better in its ecological benefit ie about 96.4% to 246.3%. From social economic small scale, private forest supports the supply of wood and provides income to the farmers continuously.
