Horticultural potential farming commodities especially banana in East Kalimantan has a bright prospect to be developed in comparison with other fruit commodities, both in fresh and processed form as East Kalimantan is one of the central areas of banana production. But the facts on the ground show increasingly poor quality bananas are produced, because it is not followed by the application of appropriate farming technologies. The purpose of this study is to provide information regarding technology improvement of banana kepok cultivation and its analysis. The research carried out in the Kaliorang village, Kaliorang Sub-District, East Kutai Regency, East Kalimantan Province in 2012. The type of data using literature study and field study, further described and analyzed qualitatively. The results showed that the proper technology improvements cultivation increase the quality and productivity of banana produced. While the increase in farmers' income through improved technology gain Rp. 6.278.350,- or the value of R / C ratio of 2.03. Application of technological improvements banana cultivation in East Kutai District provide added value and competitiveness of horticultural commodities banana in East Kalimantan.
