Abstract

The descriptive model of individual strategies of managing social capital of a person is presented. The individual strategy of managing social capital is based on personal values. This is a way how person interacts with his social surrounding. These strategies can have prosocial or proself orientation as well as intention on using or accumulation of the social capital. The combination of the vectors determines each of four individual strategies: rational altruism, mutual exchange, interpersonal pragmatism and resource monopolism. All of them are focused on the achievement of certain effects – desired states of social surrounding of a person.
