Abstract

The article analyzes the individual nicknames of residents of Ternopil region, motivated by the official anthroponyms – the name, the personal name of the bearer, the naming of the father or their variative combination. It is revealed that this group of names is quite numerous and makes 22,7% from all analyzed individual nicknames of inhabitants of the Ternopil region. Such nicknames are formed on the basis of General phonetic and / or lexical associations with the official name of the bearer or on the basis of individual atypical, subconscious associations of the nominator. There are also names formed morphologically (truncation, deformation and suffixation of the official name). The motivations behind nicknames from personal names is dialectal, foreign, domestic or distorted or «kids» versions of names and such that are atypical for a particular anthropolog team.Attention is paid to the distinction between their own personal names and nicknames, as well as Ivanovna variants of surnames and individual names. The signs and functional load of nicknames motivated by official anthroponyms are designated. Pointed out that triskova nicknames are not always a function of the characteristics of the denotatum and not often have a pejorative connotation.
