India-Nepal relations: with special reference to China

Abstract

Nepal is a small country situated in the Himalayan hills. It is located between India and Tibet and after China's occupation of Tibet, it acts as a 'buffer state' between India and China. The country is "like a flower blossoming between two rocks." Nepal's border with India is open on three sides, allowing free movement across it. Both countries have taken several measures to strengthen security ties. But in the present scenario, rapid changes are being seen in the relations between the two countries.

 नेपाल हिमालय की पहाड़ियों में बसा एक छोटा देश है। यह भारत और तिब्बत के मध्य स्थित है एवं तिब्बत पर चीन के अधिपत्य के बाद भारत व चीन के मध्य ’बफर स्टेट’ का कार्य करता है। यह देश “दो चट्टानों के बीच खिले हुए फूल के समान है।“ नेपाल की सीमा भारत के साथ तीन ओर से खुली है, जिसमें आर-पार निर्बाध रूप से आया जाया जा सकता है। दोनों देशों ने सुरक्षा सम्बन्धों को सृदृढ़ बनाने के लिए बहुत से उपाय किये है। परन्तु वर्तमान परिदृश्य में दोनों देशों के संबंधों में तेजी से बदलाव देखने को मिल रहा है।
