Abstract
It is heartening to learn that our Indian Journal of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery has been indexed which was overdue. I join all our members in sending our heartiest congratulations and compliments to Prof. S. Banerjee, the Editor of our journal, for this commendable achievement. Successive editors of the Journal have been trying for the last few decades to get the journal indexed and finally it is Prof. Banerjee's persistent and personal effort that has yielded the long desired recognition. A number of years back I wrote in the journal regarding improvement in its standard. I proposed that our learned colleagues should give the highest scores for the articles published in our own journal in different selection procedures. Then our young scientists would be encouraged to send more articles to the Indian journal which in turn would improve the standard of the journal. Now that the journal has acquired international recognition partly through the influx of better materials, as a result of the above proposition and implementation, the contributors would now almost exclusively send their original articles to our Journal. This cycle, as depicted below, would further stimulate research work and enrich our journal.
