Abstract

Combined methods for restoring and strengthening of massive metal and soil-working tools are considered, which simultaneously provide induction quenching or surfacing and plasma surface treatment. These methods increase not only the hardness and wear resistance, but also the impact strength and crack resistance of the tool, which is not provided by traditional methods of surface hardening.
