Abstract

In order to deal with the problem of energy and environment, it is important to increase the maximum capacity of distributed energy resource (DER) in the distribution network. A multi-dimensional multi-resolution model (MDMRM) of distribution network and a method are proposed to calculate and increase the capacity of DER considering voltage, power loss, and thermal constraints. Finally, the model and method are applied to the IEEE Comprehensive Case. The simulation results show that the calculations and analysis of DER capacity have been proved to be less time-consuming based on the MDMRM, and the proposed method is a useful solution to increase DER capacity. It is important for reliable, high-quality distribution network with large capacity of DER.
