Abstract

Previous investigations of the lipids in both larval and adult stages of the dried-fruit moth, Vitula edmandsae serratilineella Ragonot, reared on honeycomb, concerned a study of the lipid classes and their fatty acid compositions Miller and Blankenship 1968). It was noted in that study that the major lipid class present in both larvae and adults was triglycerides (75% of total lipid). This study deals with the injection of sodium-l-14-acetate and UL14C-glucose into intact larvae and the incorporation of such label into the triglycerides.
