Abstract

The solutions of the exact boundary value problems for the order parameter and susceptibility were obtained numerically for the incommensurate thin films with the one-component order parameter. The spatial variations of the order parameter and susceptibility and their temperature dependences were calculated for some particular sets of phenomenological parameters in the Landau expansion. The non-monotone dependences of the order parameter and the temperature of the phase transition into the incommensurate phase on the film thickness were obtained in contrast to approximate solutions. It was shown that the critical behavior of the mean susceptibility becomes more pronounced for thinner films.
