Abstract

Despite the rapid expansion of the global economic scale and significant poverty reduction, inequality is worsening rapidly in many countries. This study presents the current status of Japan’s macroeconomic situation, and-based on a data analysis-proposes policy advice for Japan to move toward inclusive growth. We found that structural reforms of the labor market (such as working styles, forms of employment, female labor force participation, the encouragement of employment of the elderly, and gender equality in employment) and the implementation of policies such as improving industrial productivity are great importance to achieve inclusive growth.
