Abstract

Sesame ( Sesamum indicum L.), commonly known as Til , is one of the most important edible oilseed crop cultivated in India, present study on incidence of capsule borer ( Antigastra catalaunalis ) in different variety of sesame during kharif season was undertaken. The results show that the incidence of A. catalaunalis was recorded in the first week of August and continued till fourth week of October at vegetative to pod maturity stage of the crop, and the population of A. catalaunalis was found significant and negatively correlated with maximum temperature and relative humidity in all varieties of sesame tested.
