Abstract
Blue light-grown gametophytes of Anemia phyllitidis were used for the in vivo synthesis of radioactively labeled dilinoylgalactosylglycerol, a potential intermediate in the synthesis of linolenic acid. Optimal yield was obtained by incubating gametophytes with [14C]linoleate first for 2 h under anaerobic conditions followed by 46 h under aerobic conditions.
