Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show the application of the multiple velocity encoding (MVEnc) and the maximum likelihood velocity estimation (MLVEst) methods to the measurement of velocity of blood in the popliteal artery of a live human knee in presence of stationary tissue (spins). These methods were developed before by the author of this paper. Blood velocity images of the same popliteal artery were obtained in order to compare them with the ones obtained using other methods. Additionally, they can be used to obtain true angiographic images of any vessel.
