Abstract

Summary: Introduction: Gingivitis andPeriodontitis are the common inflammatory diseases in our community. The reaction of the periodontaltissues results of the interaction of the hosp defense at the biofilm formed around the teeth andthe gingival tissue. The severity of this entity depend of the composition of biofilm and local orsystemic factors can promote the bacterial colonization or behavioral components like tobacco andstress can be modified the individual response. Interaction between defense response by hosp andevasion mechanism by periodontopathogens plays an important role in the pathological process ofalveolar bone destroy and migration the junction epithelium. The periodontal therapy purpose isarrest the disease progression. Recently in an attempt to increase the succes rate in regenerativeprocedures, it has incorporated the use of platelet-rich plasma. It involves the growth factors thatare proposed as enhancers of tissue regeneration of the periodontal tissues. Purpose: The purpose ofthe study was to evaluate the response of periodontal fibroblasts (PF) at different concentration ofplatelet rich plasma in vitro. Metodology: Cellular cultures of PF were obtained from In VitroResearch Center and PRP was get from the Hemocentro of the Red Cross, and dilutions were made toobtain concentrations to 10, 15 and 20%. They were compared with 2 controls of 5% bovine fetal serum(BFS) and fibroblastic growth factor (FGF). In order to determine the metabolic activity of the FPstimulated by PRP, Kit XTT® was used. Results: Findings suggest that a higher concentration of PRPresults in positive effects on cellular growth and significantly increase in proliferation of FP atconcentration of 20%. Conclusions: PRP resulted in positive effects on periodontal fibroblasts. Keywords: Growth factor. Platelet -derived. Growth factor. Periodontal ligament. Fibroblasts. Guidedtissue regeneration.
