Abstract

Since the incorporation of impact factors into Colombia's journal classification model, dental journals have navigated through a sea of uncertainty and unease. The objective of this work is to briefly acknowledge how the new model, proposed in 2022, brings even more challenges for the indexing of these journals. It is concluded that the impact of journals in the field remains largely low, highlighting the urgent need to begin the path towards inclusion in Scopus if they intend to return to the national journal ecosystem, of which many were part until 2015.
