Abstract

The goal of this work is to present a standstill method to identify induction generator parameters typically used in wind generation. The method is based on the frequency domain identification of direct, quadrature and zero sequence frequency responses to identify five parameters of the machine. These tests replace the conventional locked-rotor and no-load tests. The magnetising inductance saturation problem is optimally tackled by means of sensitivity analysis. The proposed method has been validated using non-linear time-domain simulations of a 660 kW wind generator and the experimental results are validated on a laboratory test bed whose parameters were already known by conventional tests.
