Abstract
An automated magnetic measuring system has been developed to measure the magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials. This has found wide applications in the indirect assessment of mechanical properties of materials. Previous investigations have shown that the magnetic properties of soft magnetic materials are dependent on the mechanical properties and microstructure of the material. The development of this instrument has made it possible to monitor the condition of materials on location via their magnetic properties.
