In Silico Models to Predict Oral Absorption

Abstract

Since most drugs are preferably given orally, early estimation, prediction, and simulation of oral absorption has much attention in drug discovery projects. The main focus of this chapter in on in silico prediction and simulation of oral absorption. Additionally, it also describes basic principles of permeability and absorption, and gives a short overview of some of the in vitro ADME screens including Caco-2 and PAMPA.
