Abstract

Abstract This article explores the possibility of identifying mentally stored constructions in writing process data, that is, data that reproduce the process through which a text is written. The unit that serves as a basis for the identification of constructions is the burst of writing, which corresponds to a chunk of text produced between two pauses. Bursts are examined in L1 French and L2 English keylogging data from the Process Corpus of English in Education and their potential constructional status is considered.
