Abstract
W549 loss of electricity, and MR suites were securely closed until the recovery of the regular electric power supply. While we were preparing for this emergency situation, an enormous number of lives, buildings, and anything on the ground in the cities and towns in the Pacific coastal region were lost because of the gigantic tsunami, which was far beyond our regular antitsunami protection system. Medical centers in the coastal region were severely damaged, and their function became limited. Because the damages to the coastal region were so extensive, we accepted only a few tsunami victims—far fewer than we expected. We later noticed that survivors from the direct tsunami attack were characteristically few. On Sunday afternoon, 2 days later, the electric power supply was recovered, making full radiologic operations possible except In a Radiology Department During the Earthquake, Tsunami, and Nuclear Power Plant Accident
