Abstract
The use of renewable energy sources is a global trend, aiming to limit the use of fossil energy sources that pollute the environment. Inverters are very important devices used in renewable energy conversion systems. Therefore, improving the quality of inverters isan issue that is receiving a lot of attention and research. This paper focuses on the solution to improve the quality of 3-phase inverters using the neutral point clamped (NPC)-5 level inverter technique combined with the sinusoidal pulsewidth modulation (SinPWM) technique. One of the highlight points of this study is that it has successfully reduced the number of switching times and eliminated the common-mode voltage (CMV). The simulation results have shown that the proposed technique has achieved excellent and feasible results, thereby the inverter quality is significantly improved.
