Abstract

The statistical character of the distribution of the harmful CaO and SiO2 impurities in the field of mineralization is the result of the origin of the Satka group of magnesite deposits. Investigations established a logarithmic-normal rule of distribution of CaO and SiO2 contents for which a significant right asymmetry is characteristic. Use of this rule makes it possible to analytically solve the problem of prediction of the yield of grades of magnesite on the basis of construction of the two-dimensional distribution of CaO and SiO2 contents taking into consideration the limitations imposed by specifications. In this case the average CaO and SiO2 contents by mined blocks are used since they refer to the main characteristics of the rule of distribution. The magnesite raw material mined in a mixture of higher and lower grades. Any block of magnesite raw material classified by sampling results as a specific grade contains only a certain share of this grade of magnesite while the remainder is a combination of higher and lower grades. The boundaries between grades have not been established visually. The high degree of alternation of the grades of magnesite is responsible for the complexity of intraface selection. The method developed is used in Magnesite Corporation in production planning and correction of the plan for mining work.
