Abstract

Background: Neonatal Hypoglycemia is the most common metabolic disorder in newborns. At our 5,000+ yearly delivery institution, 15% of infants >35 weeks have hypoglycemia and are managed in the newborn nursery. Oral glucose gel has emerged as a supplemental management option for this condition. Aim: To increase the exclusive breastfeeding rate by 25% over 1 year in newborns with hypoglycemia by adding oral glucose gel to their management.
