Abstract

The GK-2 roll-gumming machine (Fig. i) with a productivity of 45-55 rolls/h is widely used. The machine consists of an unwinding device, gumming device, winding shaft, and paper feeding shafts [i]. The paper sheet goes through the gumming device and passes to the winding shaft. Insertion of the paper sheet in the winding shaft is done manually before starting the drive. The machine stops automatically when the roll is wound to the required external diameter. The sheet is then cut and the end is stuck to the roll manually. The pneumatic cylinder pushes the roll on the shaft to a specified distance determined by the piston travel. The roll is then removed manually and the next roll is made in the same sequence.
