Abstract

The application of an improved imaging sequence for 19F NMR imaging in perfluorotributylamine is discussed and the results of phantom studies are reported. Frequency-selective excitation by a 1-3-3-1 hard pulse sequence and a short echo time are used to increase the signal-to-noise ratio. In this way the influence of strong homonuclear spin coupling as well as flow and diffusion effects are reduced.
