Abstract

In the present work, the effect of the substitution by two ions together, (Ti-Mg) ions, on the structure, magnetic and electrical properties of Ni-Zn ferrite was studied. Samples of general formula Ni0.7 Zn0.3 (Mg Ti)x Fe2−2xO4 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4) were prepared by conventional ceramic method. The structure of the prepared samples was studied using X-ray diffraction pattern, IR spectra and the cation distributions were obtained. The single phase structure of the samples has been confirmed by Rietveld refinement. Also, the effect of the substitution of Fe3+ ions by (Mg-Ti) ions on the hysteresis loop parameters such as saturation magnetization Ms, retentivity Mr, coercivity Hc and remanent ratio (Mr/Ms) were measured using VSM. Finally, it was found that, the substitution of Fe ions by (Mg-Ti) ions improves the physical properties of the Ni-Zn ferrite by increasing its resistivity, coercivity Hc, squarness ratio (Mr/Ms) makes these ferrite materials useful in high frequency applications.
