Abstract

In order to increase the cadence and the traverse speed of a band, unwinding system, with intermittent working, a new motorization has been studied. After a digital simulation of the plant, an algorithm of predictive control in speed and position, based on a dynamic model of the process including dc motor, speed controller and mechanism has been suggested. This control law tested in simulation has then been validated on the machine. With selection of particular “horizons” (the “costing horizons” and the “control horizon”), this performant algorithm that allows a win of two in speed and cadence will be introduced on an Intel Micro-controller.
