Abstract

AbstractWe fabricated poly(9,9‐di‐n ‐octylfluorenyl‐2,7‐dilyl) (PFO) EL devices with PBD as an electron transport material. The PBD/PFO double‐layer, which was spin‐coated sequentially by choosing solvents, and the mixed layer devices were fabricated successfully. Factors of improvement in EL intensity were eight and five for mixed layer (PBD:PFO=7:3) and double layer devices, respectively, when compared with that of the PFO single layer device. The combination of mixed layer device with PMPS:PBD:PFO= 60:35:5 showed further improvement in EL intensity by a factor of 2.5 from the mixed layer device without PMPS. These results are promising for optimizing polymer EL devices based on the wet process. (© 2008 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim)
