Abstract

As one of the most important safety systems for EAST, the cryostat pressure suppression system (CPSS) is designed to protect the cryostat of EAST under overpressure condition, and ensure the safety and the tightness during EAST operation. The structure and workflow of CPSS are presented detailedly in this paper. The rupture disc subassembly and pressure monitoring module, which are key components for CPSS, are upgraded aiming at the potential safety issues. An experimental test facility was built to verify the reliability of improved CPSS. And the experimental results indicate that the new system meets the design and operation requirements.
